In the local farmers’ food markets you will find deliciousand fresh products. Regional specialities are foiegras, truffles, goat cheese, duck and lamb. Nearby farms are great to visit for organic food products and wine.

The typical local table wine is Quercy rouge, based on the Malbec grape). Wine tasting tours are easily planned, within 1-2 hrs drive you can reach the Cahors,Gaillac and Bordeaux wine areas.
Eating out
The local restaurant “Table du Cardinal” serves excellent food with menus ranging from € 15 to € 25.Or try “Pre de Montpezat” which is an informal restaurant just on the outskirts of Montpezat. Cahors is less than an hour away and boasts numerous restaurants and cafes. Try for example “Au fil des Douceurs” or “Le O à la bouche”for regional gourmet dining.
Cycling and Running
The area around Montpezat is perfect for race biking and mountain biking. Various running routes of 5-15 km in distance are mapped out so you can run in the nice hilly landscape. Great fun!
Walking and Hiking
Go for a walk in the village, visit the beautiful 13th century church, and pass through narrow streets and squares with old “Quercy blanc stone” houses. Designated hiking routes range from 3 to 12 kms. The trails are clearly marked through fields and forests of the surrounding area.
Canoeing
In nearby St. Antonin Noble Val it is possible to rent canoes and enjoy a three hour paddle down the l’Aveyron river. Small waterfalls adds to the fun!
